Stoische Affirmationen

Marc Aurel · Meditations, II, 1

Begin the morning by saying to thyself, I shall meet with the busybody, the ungrateful, arrogant, deceitful, envious, unsocial. All these things happen to them by reason of their ignorance of what is good and evil.

George Long, 1862 · Meditations, II, 1

Marc Aurel · Meditations, V, 1

In the morning when thou risest unwillingly, let this thought be present,--I am rising to the work of a human being. Why then am I dissatisfied if I am going to do the things for which I exist and for which I was brought into the world?

George Long, 1862 · Meditations, V, 1

Seneca · Letter 12, §8

Hence, every day ought to be regulated as if it closed the series, as if it rounded out and completed our existence.

Richard Mott Gummere, 1917–1925 · Letter 12, §8

Seneca · Letter 12, §9

That man is happiest, and is secure in his own possession of himself, who can await the morrow without apprehension.

Richard Mott Gummere, 1917–1925 · Letter 12, §9
