Afirmações estoicas de confiança, nas palavras dos estoicos

Os estoicos não escreveram afirmações de confiança, mas Sêneca diz de onde vem a fé em si mesmo: as nossas forças só a inspiram quando muitas dificuldades nos saíram ao encontro. Epicteto e Marco Aurélio acrescentam a outra condição: querer agradar a alguém arruína o plano de vida, e o tempo gasto pensando nos outros é tirado da própria parte que governa.
