The rescue from Control Center and the Lock Screen
Updated
Steps
Open Control Center — swipe down from the top-right corner — then touch and hold an empty area and tap Add a Control.
Search for Stoïque and choose the control named Right now. Its icon is an opening quotation mark, not a first-aid cross: the rescue is a reading.
Tapping the control opens the app on the Right now panel: one card per state — anger, anxiety, others, procrastination, fear, grief. Tap one and a single passage comes, no list, nothing to choose after.
To put it on the Lock Screen instead, touch and hold the Lock Screen, tap Customize, then Lock Screen, tap one of the two controls at the bottom and choose Stoïque › Right now.
The control’s name in the gallery follows the iPhone’s language; once placed, the button’s label follows the language chosen in the app.
What Stoïque does not do
- No audio: the passage is read, not listened to.
- No journal and no guided meditation: the rescue is a text, not an exercise.
- No Android version.
- No statistics screen.
- No side-by-side translation comparison.
Free and Stoic+
The rescue is free, with no subscription, and its passage draws on the whole corpus, paid authors included — one passage at a time, with no list and no navigation.
For anything this guide does not cover, see the Support page.
The next step is on the iPhone: install Stoïque, then follow the steps above.
