Guide
Offline use and privacy

Steps
There is nothing to prepare. The corpus is embedded in the app, so the passage of the day, the widgets, the favourites and the notification work in airplane mode and at first launch, with nothing to fetch before reading.
Favourites, language, theme and the notification setting live on the iPhone, in the space the app shares with its widgets; deleting the app deletes them. Favourites are free and unlimited — no quota, no counter.
The app has no account, no sign-up, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. Its privacy manifest declares no tracking and no tracking domain.
The network serves two purposes. Validating the subscription with the App Store through RevenueCat, at launch and around a purchase or a restore: an anonymous identifier and the purchase receipt, never a name, an e-mail or payment details. And, after a subscription or from the Stoic+ row in Settings, checking whether a corrected corpus exists — a bare request that carries no identifier.
When a correction exists, the iPhone proves through Apple App Attest that it runs a genuine copy of the app, receives a short-lived ticket, and the corrected corpus replaces the embedded one only if its version is higher and its hash checks. The embedded corpus is the floor: a failed transfer changes nothing.
The full account, host by host — the version check, the App Attest exchange, RevenueCat, Apple — is on the Privacy page, which changes first whenever the app changes what it does with data.
What Stoïque does not do
- No audio, no journal, no guided meditation.
- No Android version.
- No statistics screen, and no account to hold any.
- No side-by-side translation comparison.
Free and Stoic+
Working offline is not a Stoic+ feature: free or subscribed, the whole app runs without a network. The only transfer that needs one — a corrected corpus — starts after a subscription, and the embedded corpus stays the floor either way.
For anything this guide does not cover, see the Support page.
The next step is on the iPhone: install Stoïque, then follow the steps above.
